Subdued 1 is an elegant nod to the early work of American Abstract painter Adolph Gottlieb. Through biomorphic forms, abstract symbols, and dream-like imagery, a highly complex scene unfolds across the canvas. Upon initial view, the gaze is drawn toward a centralized, abstract figure.
