In this original work on textured paper, five clam shells are arranged in a style that recalls the early 19th century scientific illustrations of James Sowerby. Relying upon a neutral color palette of beige and eggshell, expert shading in a stone gray follows along the rounded surface and edges of each shell, offering a sense of depth and texture to the bivalve's horizontal grooving and lightly curved form.
