Conceived by Thomas Pheasant for Baker Furniture, the Plank Cocktail Table is an exercise in lapidary restraint — its broad, horizontal form defined entirely by the inherent drama of stone. Two of the most distinguished marbles in the designer's palette, Honed Michael Angelo and Nero Marquina, are deployed with the confidence of a curator who understands that material, at this level, needs nothing added to it. The matte, honed surfaces suppress any inclination toward glitter, allowing the tectonic weight of the slab to read as pure architectural gesture. It is the rare cocktail table that functions simultaneously as sculpture and grounding element, holding a room together through sheer presence and proportion.
