River Flow

A monumental wall composition by John Richard, River Flow moves across nearly six feet of horizontal space with the unhurried authority of water finding its course. Cast in resin and finished in alternating passages of gold leaf and silver leaf, the work plays light against itself — warm and cool tones shifting with the hour, the season, the room. At once sculptural and pictorial, its shallow three-inch relief gives the surface a quiet topography that rewards close inspection as readily as it commands a room from across it.
