Blanched Bulwark I calls to mind the early work of Robert Rauschenberg of the early 1950s. As with Rauschenberg’s work, texture plays a major role in this large vertical work on canvas. The application of color and brushstrokes build texture while the addition of shapes and lines provide a sense of movement in the piece.
